USAF Museum 2005

USAFMuseum039.JPG

A group of friends visited the USAF Museum at Wright Patterson AFB, on Columbus Day, 2005. Our early arrival, at 9:30 AM. on a Federal holiday afforded us an almost private tour. There were perhaps fewer than 50 visitors when we arrived. Not more than 200 when we left in mid afternoon. Photography here by Jim Nelson and Stephanie Lannon.

Ford Tri Motor

FordTriMotor109.jpg

On June 17, 2007 one of the most unusual aircraft ever built paid a visit to Bolton Field. This Ford Tri-Motor was built in 1929 by the Stout Airplane Company, it was #146 of 199 built. Today only 9 of theses venerable aircraft remain. Its rare these days to hear a true reciprocating engine fire up and climb into the skies. Nicknamed "The Tin Goose" it its heyday, the Tri-Motor was built to carry passengers in relative comfort. One of the most interesting features of this aircraft is the cable system used to manipulate flaps, rudder, and elevator. Photography by Jim Nelson and Bob Jones.

B-17 "Aluminum Overcast"

B-17_015.jpg

During the Summer of 2007, B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" paid a visit to Columbus and Bolton Field. This particular aircraft was built too late to see any combat and was sold as surplus for $750 in 1946. It has served as a duster, cargo ship, and is now owned by the EAA, in Oshkosk, Wisconsin. This aircraft has been fully restored and carries the colors of 398th Bomb Group of World War II. Specifically it is painted to be aircraft B-17G #42-102515. That aircraft was shot down in 1944. Today she travels the USA to airshows and special events. Photos by Jim Nelson.

It isn't the same without Bos doing a live broadcast from the State Fair. We always had a good crowd, and met many fans.

4th of July Parade - 2005

Ryan.JPG

WTVN was asked if they wanted to put a float in the Reynoldsburg parade. We gathered together for our first meeting at Shauna and Ryan's place. Mel put the float together, at her place, with plenty of help. After the parade we partied at Mel's place and chowed down on her awesome (and Boster approved) hot dog and burgers.

BosFest IV

263.JPG

Again held at the Crave, in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This year's show was free of charge and not well publicized. This year there were quite a few changes. The band was sans the sax player, the music mix was much improved, Bob played the harmonica and showed his bad boy style of playing. Freight Train laid in on thick and was a pleasure to listen to.Jared gave a mature show on the drums, in a well balanced manner. Finally the Boster brothers put of a good show with their almost flawless performances. The audience sung along to their favorite songs, enjoyed "sliders", and enjoyed a few brews. I cannot wit till Bosfest V.

Cooper Stadium 2008

100_3291.JPG

For the first time in 2 years BigRod returns to the Coop. This time with a new cam corder. With Biblical proportions, as it took 6 days to create, here are the videos of both the show and the fireworks afterwards. Remember BigRod is NOT a professional videographer. Photography by the lovely Steph.

Thanks to krazy & Jim for the transportation.
